We delight in sharing the
Gospel.
Because we loved you so much, we
were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as
well. ( 1 Thes 2:8)
The Apostle Paul’s
delight was to preach the Gospel. His joy of preaching came with the giving of
his life despite the opposition he faced ( 2 Cor 11: 23-27) . Jesus commands us
to go and preach the Gospel. The Gospel is the good news that Jesus died for
our sins to give us forgiveness and New life. Jesus was raised from the dead.
He is alive; he is Lord and savior of all. Every one of us are commanded to
tell this message. When I started to follow Jesus, I could not stop telling the
world about Jesus. He had saved me, healed and set me free from the powers of
sin, Satan and hell. There was so much joy in my life . But it cost me my life.
If you desire to preach the Gospel, you will face oppositions. It is normal. For the sake of the Gospel, when I started to
preach in Tanzania , I faced many hardships,
sacrifices , forsaking my parents, friends , interests and my own ambitions as
I reached out into villages , towns ,
schools and universities to preach the Gospel. It was not easy and it is not
easy today too for me. We often wait for the convenient time or a comfortable
situation in order to preach the Gospel. It is not always the case. If you love
your neighbor, then you will not want him to perish or die in his sins, without
knowing God and experiencing Jesus Christ. Begin praying for the person that
you desire to share the Gospel. He is in
darkness, blinded, under Satan’s control. It’s warfare. It’s binding the
strongman in your neighbor. You know the Gospel message if you know Jesus.
Share the Gospel message knowing the Holy Spirit will empower you because he
promises. You are always taking a risk. You are sharing your life here. Today in
many countries one is imprisoned killed and severely persecuted because they
preached the Gospel. Maybe, you will be hated by your friends, family and
community. Be delighted. “Blessed
are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil
against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in
heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” (Mathew
5:11-12) . We delight to share the Gospel and our lives too.
